Spa Lake Fishing Report
It has been raining a lot, which has caused the water levels to rise about a foot above normal. This is causing the lake to have an above average current with some debris and very heavily stained water. Water temperatures are still in the low 40s. Fish were hard to come by today. I only managed to catch two very small bass. One came off of a very defined long sloping main lake point, and the other on a very sharp main lake channel swing. I caught them on a Carolina rigged Yum 5 inch stick bait, with a 3/8 ounce sinker. It doesn’t look like the bass have started into their pre-spawn pattern yet. Hopefully with another week or two of warm weather they will become more active.
