Latest Fishing Reports for Oologah Lake

Lake Oologah is a reservoir in northeastern Oklahoma. It is located near the towns of Oologah, Nowata, and Claremore. The lake holds 29,500 acres (119 km2) of water and 209 miles (336 km) of shoreline with 11 lake-side parks. The lake is formed along the Verdigris River. Recreation opportunities include a swimming beach, mountain biking, an ATV area, marina, RV and tent camping, picnic tables and a playground. On the east side of the lake, the Will Rogers Country Centennial Trail winds around the shore from the Spillway to Blue Creek Park totalling 18 miles.

Elevation 2 1/2 ft. above normal, water upper 60s to low 70s and muddy in the north end and murky in the south end. Crappie fair on minnows and jigs at 6-10 ft. along rocky banks. Channel and blue catfish good on shad and liver at 5-10 ft. along rocky banks. Largemouth bass fair on spinnerbaits and crankbaits at 4-8 ft. around points. Blue catfish fair on shad below the dam. March 10. Elevation normal, water lower 50s and clear. Crappie fair on minnows and jigs at 12-18 ft. around brush piles. Blue catfish fair on juglines baited with shad at 20-25 ft. near the river channel. White bass fair on jigs in the Verdigris River above the lake and fair on jigs below the dam. Water elevation is 2 feet above normal levels, 60 degrees and murky on the south end, and muddy on the north.

Crappie have been fair on minnows and jigs at 4-8 feet along the rocky banks.

Largemouth bass have been fair on soft plastics. Try around trees and other forms of structure at 3-6 feet.
